Sunlumo is currently doing research on the implementation of polymer-based components for solar water heaters. The purpose is to enable cost-efficient pumped systems for solar units used for water heating.
At the same time, Sunlumo is exploring off-grid solutions for emerging markets which also include photovoltaic elements for electricity production. The advantage is clear: production could be less costly and savings could reach up to 70 per cent.
Doing research on this project is a logical step on the way to the idea of providing “solar energy for everyone”. Pumped systems are an attractive alternative to the widely used thermosyphon systems of today.
